It will be better if the family will think that the child that has been diagnosed with autism is still the same child they love and care for. Thinking that the child is dissimilar will lead parents and siblings to treat him or her differently. The diagnosis only stated the medical condition of the child but it does not mean that she or he should be left behind. Remember that all the wonderful qualities the child exhibits will always be there. Some things and behavior might alteration in the future because of the child's condition. What parents and siblings can do is to aid the child bank on his or her wonderful qualities so he or she can use these to compensate for the condition. 3.
